My time has been limited lately. Ready-to-drink teas have been very important for my tea intake. I have been drinking a lot of bagged teas over the past few months – mainly to avoid cleanup and over-steeping. Having said that, loose leaf tea will always be my favorite. It’s just not always practical for people on the go. I’ve been looking at Teas Etc’s site trying to determine if the “Tea Traveler” is going to be a good fit for me to get back into the groove with loose leaf teas. I probably would have ordered it, but $8 shipping was more than I wanted to spend at the time. Anyway, just enjoy tea. If you can drink fresh, organic, loose leaf tea – do it. If you enjoy tea in a bottle or in a tea sachet/bag, don’t stop.

First of all, thank you for reading. I have a lot of reviews on the shelf that I plan on posting in the near future. Recently, I’ve started an iced tea project that I’m excited about. I’ve drank a lot of excellent ready-to-drink iced teas over the years, and I’ve been inspired to make my own homemade iced tea recipes. As I drink a wide variety of loose leaf teas, I’m now focused on how I can turn them into an awesome iced tea.

I’m still having a blast blogging about tea. I started in August of 2006. That seems so long ago… The future of tea shines bright, and it has been a pleasure to be a small part of the tea industry by introducing people to the joys of tea.

Welcome to all the new marTEA.com visitors. I’ve enjoyed many teas over the years and picking one favorite sweetened iced tea (ready-to-drink) was really difficult. I selected Honest Tea’s Mango Açaí White Tea when asked in a recent interview with Woman’s World Magazine (The Best Iced Tea – June 29, 2009 edition). It was nearly two years ago when I first reviewed this delicious and organic tea. If you are looking for unsweetened teas, many of the tea brands I’ve blogged about carry unsweetened teas. I learned a long time ago, if you find a tea that you enjoy, drink it and enjoy it often. I know my taste preference is not always going to be the same as yours. So explore the vast variety of flavors offered by the numerous tea companies and find the one that is right for you.

The World Tea Expo starts today: May 2-4 Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas.

In 2007 I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew I wanted to be part of the tea industry. I had been blogging about tea since 2006 and my passion started way before that time. marTEA.com was a way for me to document my tea journey. So, I packed my bags and flew to Atlanta to attend my first World Tea Expo in 2007. I remember arriving at the Georgia World Congress Center and just being in total awe. The tea industry is filled with adventurous entrepreneurial success stories. I have a profound respect for the owners and managers of the tea industry (not to mention all the men and women that help to bring tea from the earth to our cups). One of the greatest attributes of the tea industry is the culture and diversity that shapes it.

In 2008, I was able to visit the World Tea Expo in Las Vegas with a much more focused mindset. I wasn’t as nervous and I knew what to expect. The experience was exactly what I needed to help me focus on what I want to pursue when the time is right. To those chasing dreams and having a passion for tea, I wish you the best of luck and hope your experience has been as rewarding as mine.
