Fuze: Black & Green (Acai Berry)

Fuze | Black/Green Acai

Fuze | Black/Green Acai

Black tea and green tea mixed in the same bottle – I like the concept.  I wasn’t sure how it was going to taste, but I assumed Fuze would make it tasty based on my past experiences with Fuze products.  Keep in mind, this is also Acai flavored…

It literally took me three drinks to figure out what I was tasting.  One thing I can say for sure about this beverage, you’re not going to be bored drinking it.  The first drink is just a super sweet berry blast (grape-like).  I’m talking big-time sweetness in every drink of this beverage.  I was really stretching to taste any tea in this mix.  The big tea flavor just wasn’t present.  I’m getting a light black tea flavor, but I can’t find the green tea.  The sweet berry flavor (Acai Apple flavor) just totally dominates this beverage.  You have to be in the mood for a sweet drink when you grab this bottle. There are more than 30g of sugar in each bottle (Crystalline Fructose).  The bottle label  boasts 133mg of Polyphenols, 225mcg Folic Acid, 138mg Vitamin C, 17 IU Vitamin E, 37mg Vitamin B Complex (for the label readers).  For me, this is a fun ready-to-drink beverage.  It has an enjoyable smooth berry flavor with soothing sweet notes, but the tea flavor was really missed by this consumer.

Fuze: Orange blossom white tea

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Fuze White TeaFuze has one of the most decorative bottle labels I’ve ever seen. They don’t waste any real estate on the bottle letting the consumer know exactly what to expect.

Let me start with some of the highlights on the bottle label: Polyphenols – 130mg, Folic Acid 225mcg, Vitamin C – 135mg, Vitmain E - 17 IU and Vitamin B Complex – 36mg (B3 – B5, B6 – B12). Contains equal antixoidant capacity as 2 servings of vegetables per bottle. Measured by Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (*ORAC).

The flavor of the beverage is almost juice-like. It has a tangy orange flavor with a sweet aftertaste. It’s very smooth with no carbonation. The white tea flavor is very light; therefore, if you enjoy a strong and authentic flavored white tea, you’ll be slightly disappointed. The dominant flavor is easily the orange-ginger. It’s a very flavorful beverage. If you like sweet-orange flavored RTDs (ready-to-drink), you’ll like this one. I was very happy with the overall flavor…other than the fact that it might be too sweet for some. Fuze’s orange blossom white tea is a beverage that both kids and adults will enjoy. The bottle contains 18 fluid ounces. The nutritional facts state: 120 calories per bottle and 30g of Sugar per bottle.

Fuze: Green tea with honey

Wednesday, October 10th, 2007

Fuze Green TeaMy wife could not resist buying this bottled tea for me. It’s from a beverage company called Fuze. The bottle labeling is very busy to say the least. I’ll try to knock-out some of the specs on the bottle.

1.) Green tea with Honey and Ginseng, Natural Antioxidants and Vitamins C, E, B2, B5, B6, and B12.

2.) Equivalent to 2 servings of vegetables per bottle. Measured by Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC)

3.) No preservatives, no artificial colors, no artificial flavors

4.) I could go on and on. I’ve never seen this much labeling on one bottle.

Let’s discuss the flavor: First off, it does not have a strong green tea flavor. You can taste a hint of green tea, but the primary flavor is honey. It tastes very sweet. That said, it tastes very good. The color of the beverage is very light – almost lemonade like. I was actually surprised by the sweet flavor until I found the label that states it packs 16g of sugar per 8 fluid ounces. The bottle has a total of 18 fluid ounces of flavored green tea. It really does taste good. It’s something I would grab again as a substitute for a carbonated beverage. If it’s as healthy as the label makes it out to be, you should definitely try it. If you are avoiding sugar, you may want to skip this one.
