The chai tea latte is based off of the same-delicious ingredients as Oregon Chai’s original chai tea latte; however, it is sugar-free. If you look at the nutritional facts on the side of the box, you’ll see all zeros. Now, it still has a very sweet flavor to it. It’s flavored with Sucralose (Splenda-like). I’m not going to say this is better than the sweetened version of the product, but it was delicious and you don’t have to worry about the extra calories. I’m not a big Splenda fan. That said, it didn’t bother me too much in this product. If you’re comfortable with Sucralose, you’ll love this product. It’s a great way to start the day. I like it when I come in from the bitter cold. It’s a great warm-up beverage. Just like the other chai tea concentrates I’ve blogged about from Oregon Chai, you simply mix half of the concentrate with half of your favorite milk or milk substitute product. Stir it, heat it, and stir it. That’s it. You’ll have an instant treat.

Wow, that’s a mouthful. I was very impressed with Oregon Chai’s concentrates. I felt it was necessary to try more of their products. That’s the beauty of blogging about tea. Fortunately, this one is just as good as the last, if not better. This concentrate really packs a punch. It has the same great (sweet & spicy) flavor as the original chai flavor, but this one is taken to a new level with matcha, honey, and almond flavors. If you are new to matcha, you are missing out. I’ll have a lot more matcha blogs in the near future. All of the flavors are present in this mix. You simply add half of your desired serving with the concentrate and the other half with your preferred milk or milk substitute. Mix it, heat it, and mix it. That’s it. I microwave mine. When it’s ready you can smell the delicious matcha swirling around the honey and almond.

This drink is packed with sugar, but they do offer reduced-sugar and caffeine-free products. If you love Chai from “coffee shops,” you have to try this. Find it in your local grocery store and then compare the price to what you pay at the “coffee shop.” The 32-ounce container of concentrate might save you a few bucks – you do the math.

For all of the latte crazed individuals out there… Oregon Chai gives you a tea alternative to coffee lattes. I’ve been crazy-busy at work the past month. After working all day and night, Oregon Chai is helping me to wake up in the morning. I get the same satisfaction from this chai tea latte than I do a “coffee shop” latte prepared with coffee. The cool thing about this product is you just poor a half of cup of chai concentrate into a cup, and then you pour a half of cup of milk or soy in the same cup. I mix it up and heat it in the microwave. It couldn’t be any easier.

Ingredients:

Water, organic* evaporated cane juice, honey, organic* spices, organic* black tea, ginger, organic* vanilla, organic* natural flavors and citric acid. (*Organically grown and processed in accordance with the California Organic Food Act of 1990).

As you can see from the ingredients, it makes for a pretty flavorful beverage. If you would like to treat yourself to a sweet cup of chai latte, I highly recommend this. I know it’s not authentic, but as busy as I am right now it’s easy to make and it puts a smile on my face. The concentrate comes in a box with a lid at the top. It stores easily in the refrigerator after it is opened. It does have around 18g of sugar per serving, but I’m not counting at the moment. For all of the readers of marTEA.com that like authentic loose leaf tea, I’ll be writing about several soon. Right now, I know why the ready-to-drink tea industry is booming…that’s all I’ve had time to drink lately.
