Revolution: 3D Mango

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Revolution 3DI saved the best for last…The mango flavored Revolution 3D beverage was awesome. The lush mango fruit flavors were perfectly sweetened with blue agave and pure cane sugar. This tropical delight is infused with white tea and vitamins. The combination of all the ingredients create the synergistic effect known as 3D. I’ve officially tried all four flavors of the 3D beverage line. Each flavor was enjoyable. If I had to pick a favorite of mine, I’d say it was the mango followed by the blueberry.

3D Mango described by Revolution: Wondering what 3D Mango tastes like? Think tropical islands. Think pineapple. Think a little sweet, a little tart, a lot refreshing. This blend of authentic mango juice and young tea leaves is light, luscious and a boost of hydrating, vitamin-fueled energy.

I really enjoyed the juice-like beverages. The white tea is present in the beverage, but it’s truly the combination of all the ingredients that makes the product enjoyable. I’m not sure I’d buy the beverage strictly for its white tea. Having said that, I’d buy the beverage for what it is - multi-dimensional.

Revolution: 3D Blueberry

Tuesday, June 10th, 2008

3D RevolutionThis might be my favorite 3D flavor. The 3D Blueberry beverage exceeded my expectations.  The chilled beverage was light and reviving.  The flavor from the blueberry juice was not overpowering, and the agave syrup mixed with pure cane sugar sweetens the beverage to perfection.  I could taste more of the white tea flavors in this variety.  For being 3-dimensional, 3D Blueberry is a simple pleasure.  Between the delicious flavors and the loaded antioxidants and vitamins, you’ll be very happy with this selection.

Revolution Tea describes the tea as: Light, tart and refreshing, 3D Blueberry calls your taste buds to attention. In fact, only a touch of sweetening is added to let the natural flavor shine through. Made from genuine juice and young tea leaves, this drink refuses to be 1-dimensional.

Revolution: 3D Pomegranate

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Revolution 3DWith a great berry vibe and a mix of white tea and vitamins, Revolution 3D continues to impress me. The stylish products deliver on both substance and quality. The pomegranate flavor was very real and intense. This product is meant to have a juice-like flavor about it. The liquid is smooth and refreshing. There was a slight tartness to this variety, but it was very mild and added an extra ingredient to the beverage. If you want to experience the flavor of pomegranate - Revolution’s 3D is a great place to start.

Revolution describes 3D Pomegranate as: Both tart and sweet, 3D Pomegranate may remind you of cranberries. No surprise there, since the pomegranate’s fruit is considered a berry. Made from genuine juice, this refreshing drink is lightly sweetened with blue agave and pure cane sugar.

Revolution: 3D Green Apple

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Revolution has introduced a new line of ready-to-drink beverages that combine white tea, fruit juice, and vitamins. Revolution describes the 3D beverage as:

3D blends one dimension super fruits, one dimension premium white tea, and one dimension essential vitamins for the first 3-dimensional beverage. Crisp and delicious, 3D is a powerhouse of antioxidants, all natural and low in calories.

I was very fortunate to try one of each new flavor. I started with the green apple since I felt it would be the one I’d like the least (it’s just a personal taste preference - green apple has never been my favorite). I was immediately surprised by the crisp, smooth flow of the beverage. The well-designed slim and tall 12-ounce can adds to the overall value of the product. The green apple juice is tart, but the blue agave and cane sugar sweetens the beverage to make it refreshing. The green apple flavor is reminiscent of candy sour apple flavoring. That said, this beverage is more than just green apple. It is full of antioxidants and vitamins. The white tea flavor is very faint and hard to detect. With this beverage it’s a secondary ingredient as far as overall flavoring. The color of the liquid was a pale green. 3D is a non-carbonated beverage. Overall the tea, juice, and vitamin combination (3D) is a bold statement from a tea company that is already separating themselves from the competition by offering premium products that demand your attention.

Revolution: Earl Grey Lavender

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

RevolutionI’m not sure why, but I’m not a huge Earl Grey fan. I do like iced tea made from an Earl Grey blend. I guess it’s just not my first choice as a hot tea. I do enjoy it from time-to-time, it’s just like…what are my other options? When I tried Revolution’s Earl Grey Lavender I was concerned for two reasons. One, it was Earl Grey. Two, it was infused with Lavender. Lavender reminds me of the “soap” aisle of a grocery store. Anyway, I’ve had nothing but pleasant experiences with Revolution’s products - so I had no fear trying this one.

First off, the dried tea had a very pleasing aroma. The Earl Grey Lavender is listed as containing Ceylon, Oolong, and Darjeeling estate tea leaves - sounds good. Now, I steeped the tea for a few minutes in water around 210 degrees. I’m trying Revolution’s single serving infusers. You can see the loose leaf tea through the infuser. The scent rising from the dark liquor was very sweet and pleasant. The citrusy scent of bergamot wrapped with a light dash of lavender lingered around the cup. The scent was slightly sweeter than the flavor in a positive way. Revolution has lightly flavored the trio of teas with bergamot oil and lavender. The keyword is “lightly” flavored. Therefore, you get to enjoy the tea that supports the flavors. I highly recommend this tea to Early Grey lovers.  I’m certain this tea would be great if served as an iced tea.

Revolution: Sweet Ginger Peach

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

RevolutionHere’s another outstanding tea selection from Revolution. The peach flavoring and ginger root blend very well with the Assam and Ceylon full-leaf black tea. I find this one to be a great wake-me-up in the morning. The black tea gives me just the right boost of caffeine and L-theanine that I need to wake up and focus on the day. The ginger and peach flavors get my senses going. It’s hard to eat or drink anything that tastes like a peach and be in a bad mood.

To start the Sweet Ginger Peach experience from Revolution, you’ll immediately notice the pleasant peach fragrance coming from the dried tea. The leaves look full and fresh through the bag. I let the water sit for just a couple of minutes from a boil before steeping the tea for a full three minutes. The tea liquor turns very dark as expected from an Assam and Ceylon mix. The aroma rising from the cup will make you think you’ve landed in Georgia in the middle of a peach farm. The ginger flavor is present in every sip, but it serves more as a compliment to the peach and black tea flavors. I personally like that the peach flavor rises above the ginger, but it’s great that both flavors are present in every drink.

Revolution Tea: White Pear

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Revolution TeaThis is an excellent white tea from Revolution Tea. If you enjoy the sweetness of a fresh pear with the delicate flavors of white tea, you’re in business. This tea has a very enticing scent, and a smooth and refreshing flavor. I like this one with just a touch of sweetener to make the pear flavor standout more. Straight from the T-Box (Revolution’s single serving tea boxes), you’ll see the white tea leaves through the biodegradable tea bag. If you are new to white tea, this is an excellent choice because it’s a very middle-of-the-road white tea. You will not be offended by extreme flavors. The only thing you need to worry about with this tea is steeping it in water that is too hot. White tea leaves are very delicate and the goal is to extract the flavor from the leaf not to “cook” the leaves in your cup. Let the water cool from a boil before pouring the water over the tea infuser. The more of this I drank, the more I realized I missed pears. We’ve turned into an apple family with all the orchards around my house. It’s time for some good pears. In the meantime, this tea will suit me just fine.

Revolution: Tropical Green Tea

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Revolution Tropical GreenI’ve been really impressed with Revolution Tea’s style and tea selections. In an industry that is very competitive, it’s great to see a company delivering in both quality and value. Their packaging and labeling sets them apart from many of their competitors. Today I’m drinking their Tropical Green Tea. First of all, the biodegradable infuser (mesh-like tea bag) allows the tea consumer to see what’s inside the bag. You can actually see the full-leaf tea and various ingredients clearly inside of the bag. Another uniqueness about the products I’m trying is how each bag is individually sealed in a little box. I find this to be very important because I like to try a large variety of teas. I don’t want the various flavors contaminating the other flavors. In other words, I don’t want my English Breakfast tea tasking like pineapple.

The Tropical Green Tea is very enjoyable. It’s Dragonwell green tea with young hyson and pineapple flavors. This is a very smooth and naturally sweet green tea option. I highly recommend this tea for those of you that enjoy flavored green teas. The flavor and scent are very inviting. If you are not a huge green tea fan, but you are looking for a green tea to help ease you into the mix - this is a good one. You will not be offended by a grassy or vegetal flavor coming from the green tea. The tea and fruit flavors balance each other very well. I find myself just wanting to inhale as well as sip this tea. It’s just a great experience to find a tea that excites all of your senses.
