Say, Genmai Cha
The more I taste a wide variety of green teas, the more I realize how much I enjoy Genmai Cha. Genmai Cha tea is a Japanese recipe. It’s a blend of green tea leaves with roasted brown rice and popcorn. There is really popcorn in this tea blend. The tea has a nutty flavor with the scent of roasted brown rice. When it’s brewed properly, it has a delicate green tea taste with a tongue pleasing roasted brown rice flavor. The flavor reminds me of a rice cake. I honestly do not taste the popcorn.
This tea has personality. It starts with the name and ends with a unique blend of roasted brown rice, popcorn, and green tea, which makes for a relaxing cup of tea. In addition, the tea goes well with food. Many claim the tea is good after a meal to help the digestion process. This green tea is low in caffeine.
My suggestion is to try a sample of Genmai Cha. Make sure the water is 180 degrees and not any hotter when steeping the tea. Do not let it steep for more than 3 minutes. If the tea does not taste as good as it smells, try again. I always recommend trying a tea at least 3 times before giving up on it.
