Snapple: Asian Pear
As far as bottled ready-to-drink teas, I’ve always been a fan of Snapple’s products. They’re just flat-out good. Their Asian Pear flavored green tea is no exception. What I like about the Asian pear selection is the fact that it has a subtle pear flavor. In other words, this still tastes like a green tea beverage rather than pear juice. These drinks are still high in sugar. As a tea drinker that normally doesn’t add anything to tea, I’ve been consuming a lot of sugar to blog about these bottled teas. That’s the sacrifice I’m willing to make for the tea community. It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it. Honestly, with this tea, I didn’t feel like I was drinking an overly sweetened beverage. As for the EGCG, Snapple continues to do the entire tea industry a favor by promoting the health benefits of EGCG. No one knows how to pronounce it (epigallocatechin gallate), but they know it’s probably good for them. Fortunately, there are blogs and wikis for people to get the full definition.
